So how does this system work? The Air Scrubber Plus® – created by NASA engineers – is a UV light that is installed into your duct system. Inside the light, there is a titanium-dioxide honeycomb and every time your AC or heater turns on, the air in your duct system goes through the honeycomb filter. The UV light acts as a germicide and disrupts the DNA of the contaminant, effectively killing them. Once airborne contaminants pass through the UV light, they are oxidized. Oxidized particles are distributed throughout your home, destroying airborne and surface pathogens along the way.
